The participants of the programme will be undergoing training in four technical skills programmes:

Microsoft Systems Engineering

The Microsoft credential validates an individual’s ability to design and build software solutions that may integrate multiple technologies, versions and products enabling businesses and people around the world.

Microsoft Course Requirements

  • Must be Unemployed
  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Between 18 – 35 years old
  • Minimum 2 (Learnership) or 3 year IT qualification from a recognized institution

Cisco Network Associates

The Cisco credential validates an individual’s ability to design and build network solutions. Generally, CISCO training is related to the act of configuring switches, routers, code listings and network devices thus connecting people all around the world.

Cisco Requirements

  • Minimum IT qualification from a recognised institute

Fibre Optics

The fibre optical certification validates an individual’s ability to deploy optical communications, thus providing the physical connectivity medium that enables all services that traverse. This course includes fibre layout, splicing, testing etc.

This course includes Fundamentals and Principals of Fibre Optics.

  • History of fibre optics
  • Fundamentals of fibre optics (refraction, reflection and transmission)
  • Fibre optic cable manufacturing
  • Fibre splicing techniques
  • Fibre testing
  • Introduction to OMDF’s, Optic Closures and OSP Products
  • Introduction to FTTH (fibre to the Home) Products Cable, splicing and routing techniques (lab training)

  • Between 18 – 35 years old

Web Development

Build HTML pages with text, links, images, tables, and forms

Use style sheets (CSS) for colors, backgrounds, formatting text, page layout, and even simple animation effects.

HTML 5
Create web pages with PHP and MySQL by integrating forms and other HTML, CSS, JavaScript and HTML5 features

Css-3-icon
Pick up CSS and CSS3 basics for formatting and styling your web pages

Javascript
Learn JavaScript fundamentals, from functions and event handling to accessing the Document Object Model.

PHP
Learn PHP essentials and the basics of object-oriented programming

The training period is 4 months and the outcome of this programme, once completed you will be certified with international certification bodies.

After the technical skills training programme, you will be offered opportunities for work experiential learning for a period of 6 months with various host employers. Integrating formal academic preparation and experience of working in a different environment, as a result, professional values, attitudes, experiences and skills are refined and enhanced.

 

Web Development Requirements

Applicants must have basic IT programming skills who have been unemployed or have completion of their studies. Applicants should have the following skills:

    • Desktop applications such as MS Office
